Club Mac is the largest Macintosh user group in the Southern Hemisphere. We are a non-profit organisation, registered in NSW and based in Sydney. There are Club Mac members in every Australian State and Territory, as well as in South-East Asia, the South Pacific and Africa. We come from all walks of life, from politics and computer journalism to hobbyists and home users.
What services do we offer to members?
• A monthly magazine, "Macinations", packed with over 45 pages of late-breaking information, columns, reviews, tips and free member classifieds.
• A comprehensive Public Domain library, with over 500 disks. Latest versions of the best freeware and shareware are sourced from the US as they are released, and placed in our library. New members receive our latest Club•Mac•Ware disk catalogue, which can be updated whenever they choose. Disks are only $7 each ($10 for non-members).
• The Club Mac Bulletin Board Service (BBS). If you have a modem, then this is the way to use it. Imagine getting the latest PD files and information, all for the cost of a phone call! With our TeleFinder™ software (on the free Club•Mac•Disk), it's as easy as clicking and dragging the files you want over to your own disk. In addition, there are round-table 'forums' where members can ask and answer questions on various topics. Leaving messages to fellow members is simple, with our electronic mail system. These on-line services are all free to 'full' Club Mac members.
• Monthly meetings, held at Fred Hutley Hall in North Sydney. Each meeting starts with a 'Question-and-Answer' session, where experienced members share their knowledge with new users. There are in-depth demos of new hardware and software, sales of Club•Mac•Ware disks and more.
• The Club Mac Shop, which offers periodic special deals for members on blank disks, modems, software and hard drives. Our buying power and our non-profit status mean that you are assured of a great deal. Just one purchase can save you the Club Mac membership fee many times over!
